The data we collect

When you request downloadable documentation or other resources from us, or if you wish to purchase a downloadable product from us, or to leave comments on this site, then we may ask you to register by creating an account on this site. As part of this process we will ask you to provide your title, first name, last name and email address. If you are purchasing a subscription for our products then we will also ask you for your address, phone number (optional and used only for customer support), ShareScope account number (to which your copy of our product will be linked) and payment method details.

We may also ask you for additional information as part of our normal business operations and in this event we will always make clear what information we require and why. We will also record the date of your interaction for the purposes of our data retention and deletion policy (see below)

How your data is used

We collect your data so that we can:

  • Service your request, or process your order, or manage your account.
  • If you opt-in, we may email you informative articles and other resources. You may unsubscribe from this service at any time.
  • If you opt-in, we may email you information about our other products and services we think you might like. You may unsubscribe from this service at any time.
  • Any other services we may offer you from time-to-time, which are to be delivered by email, will always be on an opt-in basis and you will always be able to subsequently opt-out.

Our storage and data retention policy

We securely store your data at our UK based web-hosting provider. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology and four layers of AI powered security protect your data at all times.

We will keep your information for a limited time period not exceeding 5 years following either: (a) your last visit to this website, or (b) when you terminate all your subscriptions to our products, or (c) when you close your online account, whichever is the later. Once this period has expired, we will ensure your data is securely deleted.

Your data protection rights

  • The right to access – You have the right to request from us copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate, or to complete information that you believe is incomplete.

What types of cookies do we use?

We use two types of cookies on our website:

  • Essential – These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of our website. They are strictly necessary to provide you with the services you request on our site (e.g. to sign you into the site and keep you signed in and to maintain a shopping basket if you place an order). As such, these cookies are covered by UK GDPR and PECR exemptions.
  • Analytical – We use cookies to collect information about your visit to our website to make your visit more enjoyable and useful. This may include the content you viewed, the links you followed, the time and date of your visit, and information about your browser, device, country, language preference and your anonymised IP address. To do this, we use the privacy focused, open-source Matomo Analytics system, which we have configured to be GDPR compliant, so NO personally identifiable information is ever collected. All data related to your visit is retained within our server for no more than 4 months, or as cookies on your system that expire in less than 12 months.
